Neighborhood abundance, shared.
As a resident of Milwaukie, I loved seeing the variety of fruit trees in my neighborhood — and I noticed how much of that bounty went to waste from overabundance. That’s where we help.
A Milwaukie Resident
Milwaukie has deep roots in fruit tree horticulture — it's part of what makes this neighborhood worth walking through. On my summertime daily dog walks I kept noticing something: fruit trees everywhere, and eventually fruit going to waste everywhere. I had a cherry tree of my own and knew firsthand the obligation a fruit tree bestows.
A Fruit Tree Harvest Volunteer
One summer I started volunteering with the Portland Fruit Tree Project, climbing into trees all season to harvest for homeowners who needed the help. The owners we visited were so generous, and the yields were always bigger than anyone expected. That abundance stuck with me — and so did the feeling that my own neighborhood deserved something like this, but built as a real, reliable service rather than a one-day volunteer event.
Providing for Milwaukie
Neighbor Fruit Works grew out of that experience, and out of a genuine belief that neighborhood abundance shouldn't go to waste. There's so much fruit in this community — on branches, in yards, going unnoticed every season. This company exists to help neighbors care for their trees, harvest responsibly, and make sure that abundance gets shared. Local, intentional, farm to table — one backyard at a time.

Trained and Trusted
Building on those early experiences, I pursued formal education and training to do the work right — and to better serve the community I already loved being part of.
